The State of Civil Society Report is an annual publication of the Civil Society Forum dedicated to the situation in civil societies in Wider Europe. International experts are invited to compile reports and carefully study various aspects of public problems faced by civil society.
Our Reports
The 2022 report focused on climate activism in Wider Europe. The 2023 report is released in 2024 and focus on migration and displaced people on our continent.
2022/2023
Report on the State of Civil Society
This report takes a deep dive into climate change activism and highlights the differing experiences of campaigners across Wider Europe. The report demonstrates successful approaches but doesn’t shy away from showing the failures and difficulties continuing to face climate movements across the region.
2023/2024
Report on the State of Civil Society
This report, a regular publication of the Civil Society Forum e.V. (CSF), is the result of an
almost year-long effort and was conceived against the backdrop of huge waves of westward migration from Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion on 24 February
2022.
